From what I've seen in this trailer, this game looks like it'll be just as good as the first one. Looks like I'll be adding this one to my "games to buy" list when it comes out in September.

sonic is better in 2D. sega should admit that sonic is shit in 3D and should really go back to the franchise's roots, and then start listening to their fanbase for once.

The racoon's name is "Marin". And why does everyone keep complaining about the new characters? This isn't anything they just started doing. They've been adding new characters since the Genesis days. Let's see...

-Sonic 1 had Sonic, Dr. Robotnik/Dr. Eggman, the animals, and Badniks.
-Sonic 2 added Tails.
-SegaSonic added Mighty and Ray (which they no longer use).
-Sonic CD added Amy and Metal Sonic.
-Sonic 3/Sonic & Knuckles added Knuckles and that Egg-Robo (that one that replaced Robotnik while playing as Knuckles, and needless to say, HE isn't used anymore), as well as Mecha Sonic.
-Sonic Triple Trouble added Nack the Weasel/Fang the Sniper.
-Knuckles' Chaotix added Espio, Charmy, Vector, Heavy, and Bomb.
-Sonic the Fighters added Bark the Polar Bear and Bean the Dynamite.
-Sonic X-Treme (would've) added Gazebo Boobowski and Tiara Boobowski.
Sonic R- Added Tails Doll and Metal Knuckles.
Sonic Adventure added E-102 Gamma, Big the Cat, Tikal, and Chaos. Oh, and the Chao, of course.
Sonic Adventure 2- Added Shadow the Hedgehog, Rouge the Bat, Professor Gerald, and Maria.
-Sonic Advance added Mecha Knuckles.
-Sonic Advance 2 added Cream the Rabbit and Cheese.
-Sonic Heroes added Omega.
-Sonic Battle added Emerl.
-Sonic Advance 3 added Gemel/Gemerl/G-Mel (or whatever you call him).
-Sonic Rush added Blaze the Cat and Nega Robotnik/Eggman Nega.
-Shadow the Hedgehog added the Black Doom, the Black Arms, and the G.U.N. Commander
-Sonic Riders added Jet the Hawk, Wave the Swallow, and Storm the Albatross (and I hated just about all three of them with a passion. Wave was the only one I found to be some-what decent.)
-Next-Gen Sonic added Silver the Hedgehog, Princess Elise, Mephiles the Dark, and Iblis.
-Sonic Wildfire/Sonic & The Secret Rings added Erazor Djinn and Shahra (or whatever that genie lady was named, because I've never played the game before).

And I'm sure you get the picture.

sonic spinball 16bit (some SATAM sonic characters, they can keep 'em away from the current sonic, this is spinoff though)
dr. robotnik's mean bean machine (scratch [sonic 2 already debuted grounder] and those other AoSTH badniks, they aren't asking for a re-appearence anytime soon, again it's a spinoff)
the cancelled SATAM sonic game (which would've added sally and probably the other SATAM sonic chars to the main franchise if it wasn't meant to be a spinoff)
tails adventure (battle kukku army, they're forgotten, spinoff??)
tails skypatrol (witchcart and those other bosses i can't remember the names of, they're all forgotten, spinoff??)
sonic shuffle (lumina, void, they were pretty much meant for a one-game appearence...spinoff again)

I purposely left out Sonic Spinball and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, because those two were based off of the TV shows, and those aren't canon. As for Tails' Adventure, I haven't gotten very far on it, so I don't know much about it. Tails' Sky Patrol, I haven't even played that game for a whole sixty seconds, because I hated it. Sonic Shuffle, I've never played, and I don't plan to anytime soon. I've heard that the game is a lot like Mario Party, and I hate that game, so I think it's safe to assume that this will be just as terrible, if not worse.

Now back to Sonic Rush Adventure. The official site site is up, and the storyline has been posted. Unfortunately, though, the site's almost entirely in Japanese, and I couldn't read it if my life depended on it. However, though, "Wesley", a member of the Donkey Kong Universe forum, was nice enough to translate it, and this is how it goes:

While seeking a source of high energy in their airplane, Sonic and Tails encounter a tempest. When the airplane crashes, the two drift on the sea, washing up at Southern Island's Windmill village. A little girl named Marin appears from the island, to save Sonic and his friend. A new adventure appears for Sonic and Tails, as they try to figure out their present location, at the same time the adventure will make her wish come true!

Okay, now that we've got Sonic and Tails' story, they just need to reveal Blaze's storyline, and how they've managed to fit her into this one.
