Ramen is awesome, for those times when you just want a quick meal or if you're broke and can't afford much of anything else. But, sometimes the standard "cook for 3 minutes in 2 cups of boiling water, then add seasoning" procedure can get boring. So we find ways to add a bit of variety to our "meal". In fact there's one
article on a college website that has a list of recipes worth trying out.
Here are some of my favorite additions:
- Soy Sauce (add 1tbsp, or to taste)
- Hot Sauce (to taste)
- 2 Eggs (beat, then add in when soup's boiling)
My most recent mix ended up having Worcestershire sauce, Mirin, Somen soup base, parsley, and sesame seeds added to it. It came out just fine. Next time, I might add chicken, peas, and corn.
What do you add to your ramen to make it more interesting?
